Royal Deeside is rich in history, culture and the arts. There are activities for all ages to enjoy and when it comes to sporting and leisure activities, you will be spoilt for choice. With diverse habitat, from river valleys to high mountains, there is an abundance of wildlife to be seen and enjoyed. Stunning scenery awaits you at every turn and the Finzean Estate at the heart of the Feugh valley is no exception.
Castles at Balmoral, Drum, Crathes and Craigievar to name a few.
Whisky Distilleries at Lochnagar and Fettercairn with many more within an hour's drive.
Golf Courses at  Aboyne, Banchory, Inchmarlo, Ballater and Britain's highest golf course at Braemar.
Winter skiing at Glenshee and the Lecht; horse riding at Glen Tanar; waterskiing on Aboyne Loch; canoeing and kayaking on the Dee.
For youngsters there is the Soft Bear Play Centre at Strachan and Go Ape at Crathes Castle.
Cycling on the Finzean Estate tracks, the Deeside Way which follows the old railway line from Aberdeen all the way through to Ballater and many  miles of off road forestry and mountain tracks throughout Deeside. There is bike hire available in Ballater. There are endless walking tracks to enjoy birdwatching and wildlife including red squirrels, deer and capercaillie.

Local Munros include Lochnagar and Mount Keen with many more ‘to bag’ towards Breamar and beyond. Clachnaben, Peter Hill and Tom's Cairn are lower hills to climb all adjacent to Finzean Farm Shop.There is a good range of interesting boutiques, outdoor shops, craft and art galleries in Banchory, Aboyne, Ballater and Braemar. Highland Gatherings take place in Aboyne, Ballater and Braemar.
